Iran analysis: Where are the “Free Pally” protests? [2min read]

As protesters took the streets of Iran, demanding an end to 47-years of dictatorship, The “Free Palestine” movement that has taken over world recently, have strangely been quiet.

Two years of marches across major cities and universities

During the conflict of Gaza, we have watched major cities and universities around the world, being brought to a standstill. University and college campuses have been shut down, and major cities trampled upon. The world took notice of “free Palestine” and the precarious suffering of a Palestinian cause.

Spare a thought for the people of Iran for one moment who have effectively been living under a dictatorship during the past 50 years. Across the weekend, approximately 40,000 [Per UN Report and CBS News] dead across Iranian cities, and a further 12,500 protesters arrested according to CBS News, in just 14 days.

This treatment of Iranians has largely happened underneath the publics watch and mostly without a whimper. Those inside Iran, and those living outside of Iran have largely called for foreign intervention, as the Ayotollahs seemed to be shooting people on the streets of Tehran simply for dancing or taking off a head scarf.

The current death toll in Gaza is roughly about 70,000 and that is upon Hamas own Health Ministry statistics. If we consider that the death toll in Iran, is roughy 1/2 of that amount currently, why then has no major college campus’ been trespassed upon ?

It is mostly because while the current State of Israel is at war with Gaza, it’s interests aligned with the people of Iran. The people of “free Palestine” simply cannot admit, for fear of being tarnished of being on the side of Israel, that foreign intervention should be used in the same situation. Protesters are so knee deep and caught up in a tribal affair with Israel, that they cannot possibly affirm that the number of dead bodies in Iran matter at all. It is simply an inconvenience to acknowledge any statistics.

Comment from Iranian political reporter abroad, Elicia Le Bon said about the issue, “After saying this for years, I can’t believe it’s taken 12,000 Iranians murdered by the IRGC—to the world’s deafening silence—for people to finally see that the whole human rights movement & its social justice warriors was a gigantic, spectacular farce.” She said.

A “spectacular farce” would be an adequate description.
